Why recycle metal lids?

Metal lids are generally made of steel.  Steel is 100% recyclable.  The metal can be reprocessed again and again without losing any quality.

What do we do on Coll?

We can take the following items at the Village compound:

  • metal lids from glass jars and beer bottles

Please note, that wine screw tops are made from various substances: PVC, plastic and occasionally tin.  We cannot currently recycle these.




How can I get involved?

Take part in recycling, but remember, you can reuse your jars for lots of things or pass onto others who make their own jams and chutneys.
